Public Golf Courses In Destin

If you're like me and enjoy playing a few rounds of golf on vacation, the quality public golf courses in Destin Florida will leave you wanting more.

There are many to choose from and each one offers a unique challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Are you worried about not playing well? Relax in the knowledge that you're still in Destin, the best little golf hideout in the U.S., and that you'll have another chance to be on your game tomorrow.

Destin, Florida is a year round golfing destination with beautiful natural surroundings, championship courses, and excellent service and facilities, all of which leave you with difficult decision to make . . .

Where to Golf in Destin

Below I've highlighted five public golf courses in Destin. These are five that I'm familiar with and have played at one time or another.

  • Regatta Bay Golf & Country Club (850) 650-7800

    Public, championship course. 18 holes, par 72, 6,829 yards.

    I've only played at Regatta Bay once, but I loved the course and played decently. Overall it was a good time. The course was designed by Robert C. Walker, the former lead architect for Arnold Palmer. Golf Digest ranked the course among its 'Top 200 Places to Play in North America'.

  • Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort (850) 267-8211

    Sandestin features four courses by three renowned designers.

  • Raven course

    18 holes, par 71, 6,900 yards.

  • Burnt Pine course

    18 holes, par 72, 7,000 yards.

  • Baytowne course

    18 holes, par 72, 6,700 yards.

  • Links course

    18 holes, par 72, 6,900 yards

    Play one or play them all. Each course at Sandestin offers a unique challenge and beautiful scenery. The Baytowne course is my favorite.

  • Seascape Resort Golf Club (850) 837-9181

    Public, championship course. 18 holes, par 71, 6,100 yards.

    The golf course was designed by architect Joe Lee. It has quite a few water hazards, some of which got the best of me, but it's a fun course with a lot of challenges. Like every other course in Destin the scenery is beautiful and relaxing.

    I say that for every course, but you just can't get around the fact that all the public golf courses in Destin are beautiful. Seascape is certainly no exception.

  • The Golf Garden of Destin 850-837-7422

    Public, lighted course. 9 holes, par 29, 2455 yards.

    I love this place and have played there often. It's just a great, unpretentious, place to golf in Destin Florida. It's excellent for practicing on your short game or loosening up before playing on one of the championship courses in the area.

    My Dad and I have been there a few times to practice up on their Par-3 course. I've played there numerous times with friends and my roommate worked there the summer I lived in Destin. It just has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

    The Golf Garden also has a great miniature golf course that your whole family will enjoy, but the best thing about the Golf Garden is that you can play at night under the lights. It's great entertainment for you and your kids. Drive by there at night and look at what you're missing.

  • Indian Bayou Golf & Country Club (850) 837-6191

    Semi-private. Three nine-hole courses.

    The Seminole, Choctaw, and Creek Golf Courses encompass 27 challenging holes with very reasonable fees.

    A full-service pro shop, restaurant, lounge, and both mens and women's locker rooms are housed in the Club House.
